Information Search Interface

InsightStream provides a ready-made web interface for performing search queries to the assistant. With it, users can ask the needed question and receive an accurate answer with source references.

The web interface for interacting with the assistant is available at: http://server_address_or_domain_name:8080/INDEX_ID_where_search_is_performed

Interface Structure​

The web interface consists of the following elements:

  • Question input field
  • Answer to the question with rating option
  • Sources (document + quotes)
  • Relevant questions

How to Formulate Questions Correctly​

The system understands queries in natural language, but to improve answer quality, we recommend following these rules:

  • Formulate a specific question — avoid abstract or general formulations.
  • If possible, ask one question at a time.
  • Specify context if it's important for understanding (e.g., "in the context of the internal portal", etc.).
  • Don't combine multiple topics in one question.
  • Don't ask general questions unrelated to the assistant's knowledge base

Examples: ✅ How to get access to the monitoring panel?
✅ Where to check document processing status?

Not recommended: ⛔ Tell me everything about the system
⛔ How does it work in general? ⛔ How to tie a tie?

Answer Rating​

Users can rate each answer by clicking:

  • 👍 — positive rating
  • 👎 — negative rating (a form with reason selection opens)

Below are our recommendations for giving ratings.

Important! Only answers that users have rated are saved in logs.

Positive Rating (👍)​

  • Answer is complete and matches the query
  • Factual information is accurate
  • Correct document links are provided
  • Answer style satisfies the user

Negative Rating (👎)​

The user must specify the problem type:

1. Factual Error​

  • Incorrect data
  • Contradiction with documentation
  • Incorrect parameters

2. Incomplete Answer​

  • Important aspects are missing
  • Limitations are not indicated
  • Key details are omitted

3. Don't Like the Style​

  • Hard to read
  • Structure is unclear
  • Too dry / too artistic

4. Wrong Source​

  • Irrelevant documents used
  • Target sources missed
  • Links don't match the answer

5. Doesn't Know the Answer, Though Should​

  • Information exists in the base but wasn't found

6. Didn't Understand My Question​

  • Answer doesn't match the context
  • Incorrect interpretation of terms
  • Ignoring details

7. Other​

  • Option to specify an arbitrary reason
